Amy Denio
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Amy Denio (sax, clarinet, guitar, bass, accordion, keyboard) has composed and recorded 500+ works for large and small ensembles for modern dance, film, theater and television. She has developed her unique musical style by collaborating with musicians and artists worldwide for more than thirty years. She is the founder of Spoot Music, a recording studio, record label and publishing company, President of the all-women Tiptons Sax Quartet, Vice President of the Seattle Composers Alliance, and was inducted into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame in 2015. She recently composed the soundtrack for the silent film ‘Variete’ (Dupont, 1925) which premiered at the Paramount Theater, and has been commissioned by film distributors KINO LORBER to compose and produce soundtracks for the silent films ‘A Daughter of the Law’, ‘The Strike’, and ‘Cunegonde Femme Crampon.’ Her compositions have been performed at Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, from the top of Metro buses in Seattle, below Times Square in NYC, and on radio stations worldwide.
