Omaira Galarza

As the daughter of a spy – aka a counterintelligence and espionage agent in the military – Omaira Galarza inherited a curious spirit and zest for investigation. While her brothers transferred those spy genes into IT analyst endeavors, this black sheep chose TV writing.

After getting an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California, Omaira became a fellow of the NHMC Writers Program. Her first staff gig was in a virtual writers’ room before they became all the rage. She wrote on “The Kitchen Musical” (AXN Asia), and worked via Skype as the show was based in Singapore. She has also written for Station 19 (ABC) and East Los High (HULU). She also wrote for two STARZ mini rooms - “Family Crimes” created by David Ayer and a soapy remake of the telenovela Teresa.

Starting January 2021, she will also be available as an instructor through Script Anatomy, a prestigious TV writing school in Los Angeles. Omaira is part of a writing team and is repped by Valor Entertainment. They are currently in development on two television pilots.
