Neal Schindler

Along with longtime co-director Dr. Carl Baum, Neal Schindler has been organizing the Spokane Jewish Cultural Film Festival since 2014. He is the executive director of Spokane Area Jewish Family Services, the festival’s primary sponsor. A native of Detroit, Schindler has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2002. He worked as a journalist in Seattle before moving to Spokane in 2011 to earn a master’s degree in counseling from Eastern Washington University. Schindler has written about film for print and online publications on and off since 2002. He and his festival committee are hard at work adapting the 17th annual SJCFF, scheduled for late January 2021, to a virtual format.
