Sam Akina

Sam is an award-winning writer, director and editor. He graduated Phi Theta Kappa with a degree in Film and Video Communications from Seattle Central College in 2003. In 2005 he wrote and directed the cult feature film “Bullets, Blood & a Fistful of Ca$h”. Created on a shoestring budget, Ca$h was subsequently released into over 30 countries. As a feature film writer and director, he has worked internationally since 2010, co-writing five and directing three of the highest grossing Polish films of the past decade - “Letters to Santa” (Listy do M.) (2011), “The Planet Single” trilogy (Planeta Singli 1,2,3) (2016, 2018, 2019) and “Mayday” (2020).

He is co-founder of the Seattle based production company Attackships On Fire, where he has directed numerous music videos and commercials for clients such as Dell, Adidas, Intel, and Microsoft. His awards include one Addy, one Webby, six Tellys, two Webby Honorees and various festival and comedy awards, such as the CinEast Audience Award and Seattle Polish Film Festival’s Audience Choice award.
