SJ Chiro

SJ Chiro's most recent feature film, East of the Mountains, starring Tom Skerritt, Mira Sorvino and featuring Annie Gonzalez and shot entirely in Washington State, will be in theaters September 24, 2021.

Her first feature film, LANE 1974, premiered at SXSW in 2017. LANE 1974 went on to win the prestigious FIPRESCI award for New American Cinema, and was distributed by The Orchard. Chiro is also known for her many award-winning short films as well as her extensive work in theater. She received her BA from Bennington College, a training which included a stint studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. SJ Chiro has made her home in Seattle since 1988.
