Bernadette Banner

Bernadette Banner is best known for her YouTube channel devoted to the reconstruction and interpretation of historical dress. Her work focuses primarily on dress predating the widespread use of the electric sewing machine. She graduated from New York University after working as a design assistant on Broadway and in 2017 began collaborating with the team at the School of Historical Dress to continue the work of Janet Arnold. She contributed drawing and reconstruction work for the fifth volume in the Patterns of Fashion series, including illustrations for “The Staymaker’s Tale”.
