Catherine Joy

Catherine is a composer for film, media and live performance. She won Best Documentary Score for the uplifting sports documentary “Gold Balls”. She recently scored the multi-award winning documentary “The Augmentation of Douglas Engelbart” (now streaming on Amazon Prime), the supernatural thriller “The Parish”, and the documentary “Naughty Books” which features narration by Aisha Tyler, Allison Tolman and Aimee Garcia. Catherine has also scored a number of series, including “Women of the Island”, “No Matter What” and “Capitol Hill” which was televised throughout Canada and Europe. She recently contributed music to the History Channel miniseries “Washington” and to an upcoming Animal Planet series. She’s currently scoring the Seattle-based narrative short “Diabolos”, and the sports documentary “MaoSanta” about the legendary Brazillian basketball player Oscar Schmidt. Catherine is the CEO of score production company Joy Music House, and the Vice President of the Alliance for Women Film Composers.
