As a Bush Fellow at the University of Minnesota, Mimi was the first woman intern to work in the scene shop at the Guthrie Theatre. In Hollywood, she was the first woman credited as VFX Camera Operator (Damnation Alley) VFX Producer (Meteor), and VFX Vice President, Cinema Research Corporation (Superman 1 & 2, Altered States, the original Tron, et.al.). Her first art department credit was on “Miami Vice”, her last large TV credit was on “Lost”. She earned an Emmy Nomination for “An Inconvenient Woman”. She served as a Governor of the TV Academy during 9/11 when the Awards were cancelled twice. She has served on the Board of IATSE Local 800 for over 10 years and is the first woman to be elected President of the Union. She is now the founding President of Alliance of Entertainment Designers and Artists, an independent mutual benefit corporation dedicated to increasing public awareness and professional excellence in the art of visual story telling.
