Tadpole

A buck-the-system journalist triggers a childhood trauma in the country’s biggest movie star during a live broadcast interview.

About the script

Through his career, action star Scott Fisher has evaded genuinely answering one simple question: Why acting? A journalist suspects an exposé gold mine behind Scott’s true answer and she’s determined to be the one to crack him. She wants the truth, but quickly learns to be careful what she asks for.

Tadpole is one short script in a series that explores characters in Michelle Deni Malouf’s feature action screenplay Fall Into Me. Tadpole is Scott Fisher’s origin story.

About the Writer:

Michelle Deni Malouf is a retired oceanographer, former international ice hockey player, and U.S. Coast Guard veteran who fell in love with scribing life’s adventures for the screen. To elevate her storytelling, she studied professional screenwriting in graduate school. Her action pilot The Book of Nash, dramatic feature Crescendo, and animated short Spider Season, have all placed in finalist tiers through ScreenCraft and the International Screenwriters’ Association (ISA) competitions. Michelle’s action feature screenplay, Fall Into Me, earned her a year-long mentorship under the 2023-2024 Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Project. In early 2023, Michelle founded Nordic Orca Films LLC, which hosts the Northwest Screen Scribes writing group in Whatcom County, WA. She is a resident of Washington State and a member of the Northwest Screenwriters Guild, ISA, and the Louisiana Film Entertainment Association.
